When the going gets tough, the all-new Subaru Outback gets you there. This is the family estate car in its purest form - spacious, capable and rugged.

This is the smartest Outback ever. It has permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, X-MODE with Hill Descent Control and a 213mm ground clearance. A dependable 2.5L Boxer engine sits under the bonnet, and a suite of driving assistants come as standard, including Autonomous Emergency Steering, Lane Centring, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Intelligent Speed Limiter functions as part of EyeSight Version 4.0.

Limited, Field and Touring trim levels are available. There’s an 11.6” infotainment system, Harman/Kardon Audio, a powered tailgate, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, keyless entry and start, power-folding door mirrors, heated front and rear seats, roof rails, a tilt and slide sunroof and Nappa leather upholstery available as standard.

2.5L Boxer engine

The horizontally-opposed, 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, 2.5L Boxer petrol engine produces 169PS and 252Nm of torque. The 0-62mph time is 10.2 seconds, and it returns up to 32.8mpg combined (WLTP).

AWD

The permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system splits torque evenly between all four wheels. Select X-MODE with Hill Descent Control, and the Outback will manage power and braking for you on tricky descents.

EyeSight Version 4.0

This includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Lane Keep Assist, Lane Centring, Lane Sway and Departure Warning, Autonomous Emergency Steering, Intelligent Speed Limiter, Traffic Sign Recognition and more.

More driving aids

In addition to EyeSight technologies, SRVD (Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection) also comes as standard. It includes Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert to improve safety even further.

Parking aids

All models have rear parking sensors. Limited and Field models have an analogue reversing camera, while Touring models have a digital reversing camera. Uniquely, the cameras have their own washer jet for the lens.

Big practicality

The Outback is perfect for families. A powered tailgate with hands-free function comes as standard in Field and Touring models. The boot load volume is 561-litres, and the roof rack can carry up to 67.5kg when driving.

Fully connected

The Outback comes as standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and voice recognition. Field models get satellite navigation, and Touring models get a Harman/Kardon Audio System with 11 Speakers.

Creature comforts

All models have heated front and rear seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and a windscreen wiper de-icer function. Nappa leather is standard in Touring spec, and Field models get a heated steering wheel.
